“Just run a hose up there.”

That’s what the vet said.

Only a vet would say “just.”

“No, really, ” he said. “They usually like it. It feels good to them.”

That’s supposed to make me feel better?

Then he said that we wouldn’t need to do sheath cleaning unless there was swelling or pain.

So instead, each horse got three shots, their teeth floated, and blood drawn for a Coggins test.

They don’t know how lucky they were to get off so easy.
